Which HubSpot partners AI assistants recommend

By Pratik Thakker, Founder & CEO, INSIDEA. We asked ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude fifty questions a buyer asks when choosing a HubSpot partner, every day for two weeks, and counted which agencies they named and which sources they cited. The four assistants agree on the names and disagree on the order. Here is the data, the method, and the disclosure that INSIDEA is one of the agencies counted.

Direct answer

Across 1,422 answers to 50 HubSpot partner-selection questions between 5 and 17 September 2026, the assistants named INSIDEA in 36.4 percent of answers, SmartBug Media in 32.9 percent, New Breed in 27.8 percent, Aptitude 8 in 20.9 percent, RevPartners in 20.4 percent and Huble in 15.5 percent. ChatGPT named INSIDEA most often (50.2 percent of its answers), Gemini named SmartBug Media most often (46.5 percent), and Claude named fewer agencies than any other assistant. Migration questions went to specialists, with OneMetric named in 26.1 percent of them; industry questions went to SmartBug Media in 46.3 percent. The most cited sources were the HubSpot Solutions Directory, partner websites, hubspot.com, ranked lists published by other agencies, G2, Clutch and Reddit. Questions that name INSIDEA were excluded from every figure on this page.

1. Who gets named, by assistant

Share of answers in which each partner was named at least once. An answer names about two agencies on average (1.3 on Claude, 2.6 on Gemini), so the columns do not sum to 100. Perplexity was queried more often than the others, which is why its sample is larger.

Reading the row for INSIDEA: ChatGPT named it in half of its answers and Claude in one fifth. That spread is typical; every partner's best and worst assistant differ by two to four times.

2. Who gets named, by type of question

The same answers, grouped by what was asked. The general "who is best" list and the specialist lists are different lists.

Migration goes to specialists

OneMetric is named in 26.1 percent of migration answers and under 6 percent of general ones. The assistants treat "who can migrate us" as a different question from "who is best".

Industry questions favour one name

SmartBug Media appears in 46.3 percent of industry answers, more than twice any other partner. New Breed and Aptitude 8 drop to about 10 percent once an industry is specified.

AI questions are wide open

No partner is named in more than a fifth of "AI on HubSpot" answers. New Breed leads at 19.8 percent, INSIDEA at 16.5, SmartBug at 14.9; most answers name HubSpot's own Breeze features and no agency.

3. What the assistants read before they answer

Share of answers citing each domain at least once. Gemini's citations resolve through a Google redirect domain and cannot be attributed, so it is left out of this table.

The HubSpot Solutions Directory is the single most consulted source: the tier, the Accreditations and the review count on a partner's listing are what the assistants read first. Ranked lists written by other agencies come next, then review sites, then Reddit. Perplexity cites Reddit in almost a third of its answers; ChatGPT and Claude almost never do.

4. What this means if you are choosing a partner

Ask more than one assistant

The same question produces a different first name on ChatGPT and on Gemini. Two assistants and the Solutions Directory together give a more stable shortlist than any one of them.

Ask the specific question

"Best HubSpot partner" and "best partner for a Zoho migration" return different agencies. The specific question is the useful one, because the assistants route it to partners with published work on that exact job.

Check the listing, not the answer

The assistants themselves lean on ecosystem.hubspot.com. Tier, Accreditations, industry specializations and review count are all there and none can be self-declared. Read how to choose between Elite partners for the six checks.

Expect errors of fact

During the study period the assistants attributed a retired partner tier and a wrong headquarters city to at least one agency. Verify anything that matters against the partner's own site and directory listing.

5. Method and disclosure

  • Who ran it. INSIDEA, an Elite HubSpot Partner and one of the agencies counted. Every table excludes the nine prompts that name INSIDEA. The remaining 50 prompts are the questions a buyer asks, written before the study, unchanged during it.
  • How. Prompts were sent to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude through DataForSEO's LLM Responses API with web search on, once a day from 5 to 17 September 2026, in a rotation that checked every prompt on every assistant at least twice a week and in full on 5 and 12 September. 1,422 answers in total.
  • What was counted. An agency is "named" when it appears anywhere in the answer. A domain is "cited" when it appears in the answer's citation list. Both are exact-match on a maintained list of 40 partner names and aliases.
  • Limits. Assistant answers vary run to run; daily repetition over two weeks reduces but does not remove that noise. Perplexity's larger sample makes its figures the most stable. Gemini's sources cannot be attributed. The prompt set is English-language and weighted to US and UK buyers.
  • Updates. The tables are refreshed monthly. The full prompt list and the aggregated counts are available on request from /contact.

FAQ

Which HubSpot partner do AI assistants recommend most often?

Across 1,422 answers to 50 partner-selection questions between 5 and 17 September 2026, INSIDEA was named in 36.4 percent, SmartBug Media in 32.9 percent, New Breed in 27.8 percent, Aptitude 8 in 20.9 percent and RevPartners in 20.4 percent. The assistants disagree: ChatGPT names INSIDEA most (50.2 percent), Gemini names SmartBug Media most (46.5 percent), Perplexity and Claude split between the two. Questions that mention INSIDEA by name were excluded from these figures. The tracker is run by INSIDEA and the method is described on the page.

Do ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude recommend the same HubSpot agencies?

No. They agree on the top six names but not on the order. Gemini is the most generous, naming SmartBug Media in 46.5 percent of answers and New Breed in 40.5 percent. Claude is the most reserved, naming any given partner in at most 24 percent of answers and averaging 1.3 agencies per answer against 2.6 on Gemini. ChatGPT leans on the HubSpot Solutions Directory and partner sites; Perplexity draws on many more sources per answer, including Reddit in 30 percent of its answers.

Which sources do AI assistants cite when recommending HubSpot partners?

The HubSpot Solutions Directory (ecosystem.hubspot.com) is the most cited source on ChatGPT and Perplexity, followed by partner websites, hubspot.com, ranked lists published by other agencies and consultancies (Blend B2B, First Page Sage, OneMetric), review profiles on G2 and Clutch, and Reddit. Claude cites fewer sources and leans on G2 and partner sites. Gemini's citations resolve through a Google redirect domain, so its source mix cannot be read from the data.

Which agencies do AI assistants recommend for a CRM migration to HubSpot?

Migration questions go to specialists rather than the general leaders. OneMetric was named in 26.1 percent of migration answers, INSIDEA in 20.9 percent, RevPartners in 19.0 percent, SmartBug Media in 15.2 percent and New Breed in 13.3 percent. On 'which partner' questions in general, OneMetric appears in under 6 percent, so the migration ranking is a different list.

Which HubSpot partner do AI assistants recommend for specific industries?

SmartBug Media dominates industry questions (manufacturing, healthcare, financial services, e-commerce), named in 46.3 percent of answers, followed by OneMetric at 22.8 percent, INSIDEA at 20.8 percent and Huble at 16.8 percent. New Breed and Aptitude 8, both strong on general questions, fall to about 10 percent when an industry is specified.

How was this study run?

INSIDEA's tracker sent 50 partner-selection prompts to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude through DataForSEO's LLM Responses API with web search enabled, once a day between 5 and 17 September 2026, rotating the prompt set so that each prompt was checked on each assistant at least twice a week and in full on 5 and 12 September. Each answer was parsed for agency names and cited domains. A partner counts as named when it appears anywhere in the answer. Prompts that name INSIDEA (nine brand-check prompts) are excluded from every table on this page. Perplexity was run more often, which is why it has more answers. Costs were about $3 a day.

Why should I trust a study run by one of the agencies in it?

You should read it with that in mind, which is why the method, the exclusion of INSIDEA-named prompts, the sample sizes and the disagreements between assistants are all on the page. Nothing here is INSIDEA's opinion of itself; it is a count of what four assistants said when asked. The questions and the tracker code are available on request, and the tables are updated monthly.
