What HubSpot AI actually costs

Every AI action HubSpot meters, priced in credits and in dollars, what each tier includes, and what a real month of usage comes to. Every figure is quoted from HubSpot’s own catalog and every total is calculated from those figures rather than estimated.

The short answer

What it costs, and why you could not find out

$0.10per answer

Data Agent responding to one prompt on one record, the cheapest thing HubSpot meters

$10per piece

Content Agent generating one piece of content, the dearest, at 1,000 credits

100xspread

between the cheapest and dearest AI output, which is why an average cost per action tells you nothing

$400a month

the costliest of five ordinary months modelled below, and it is a workflow rather than an agent

Every rate on this page comes from the Products and Services Catalog on HubSpot’s legal subdomain. The AI product page carries no figure at all, and the credits help article carries the per-credit rate and the expiry policy but not one agent’s cost.

The costly line is rarely an agent. A single Breeze action inside a workflow that already enrols thousands of contacts is metered per execution, and it will outspend every agent on the list without anyone deciding to switch anything on.

With Customer Agent, cost rises with success. Charging on resolution rather than on conversation is fair, and it means the better the agent gets, the bigger the bill. That is the opposite of how seat pricing behaves, and it needs saying before a rollout.

The rates

What one action costs

Dollar figures are the credit cost at $0.01 per credit. Capacity packs work out to the same rate, so a pack does not make an action cheaper, it only makes the spend predictable.

Custom agent, Agent Builder
Use one action unit
1
$0.01

Priced per action unit rather than per outcome, so the cost depends entirely on how the agent is built.

Data Agent
Generate a response to one prompt for one record
10
$0.10

The cheapest agent per action, and the one most likely to run thousands of times a month.

Workflow Breeze action
Execute one Breeze action in a workflow
10
$0.10

This is the one that scales without anyone noticing. A workflow enrolling 5,000 contacts a month costs 50,000 credits.

Buyer intent
Create or monitor one company for one month
10
$0.10

Recurring monthly, not one-off. This is the line that quietly consumes an allowance.

Customer Agent
Resolve one conversation on text-based channels
50
$0.50

Charged on resolution, not on conversation, so a chat the agent cannot answer costs nothing.

Buyer intent, custom signal
Monitor one company for one custom signal for one month
50
$0.50
Prospecting Agent
Recommend outreach for one lead
100
$1
Content AgentBeta
Generate one piece of content
1,000
$10

Twenty times the cost of a support resolution, and twice the entire monthly allowance of a Starter subscription.

What you already have

What a real month costs

Five months that look ordinary

Every credit total and every dollar figure below is calculated from the published rates, not estimated. Change the rate and these numbers move with it.

A support team the AI is actually helping

1,000 conversations a month, 60 percent resolved by Customer Agent without a human

The better the agent performs, the larger the bill. Success and cost move together here, which is the opposite of how seats work.

30,000
Credits used
5,000
Included, Enterprise
$250
Overage

Buyer intent switched on for a target list

500 target accounts monitored for one month, before a single AI action runs

This consumes an entire Enterprise hub allowance on its own, every month, and it is recurring rather than one-off.

5,000
Credits used
5,000
Included, Enterprise
$0.00
Within allowance

A workflow nobody thought of as AI

One Breeze action inside a workflow that enrols 5,000 contacts a month

The most expensive line in this table is not an agent. It is one checkbox inside automation that already runs at volume.

50,000
Credits used
10,000
Included, Enterprise
$400
Overage

Content Agent used as a content team

Eight pieces of content generated in a month

Content Agent is in beta and priced per piece, so it is the easiest line to misjudge when planning.

8,000

3,000

$50

Prospecting at a modest pace

100 leads recommended for outreach in a month

The only scenario here that fits inside its allowance, and it uses every credit of it.

The rules that decide the bill

More important than the rates

Credits are not additive across subscriptions

You receive the highest available allotment based on your highest subscription tier, not the sum. HubSpot's own example: Marketing Hub Professional alongside Sales Hub Enterprise gives you the Enterprise allowance, not both.

Nothing rolls over

Unused credits expire at the end of each usage period and do not carry into the next month.

Features pause when the allowance is gone

By default, once included credits are used and no capacity pack has been bought, usage-based features stop until the next reset date.

Alerts arrive late

Notifications fire at 75, 85, and 90 percent of the allowance, and again when the limit is exceeded. At 90 percent of a 3,000 credit allowance you have 300 credits left, which is six Customer Agent resolutions.

What HubSpot does not publish

The gaps, listed

  • No per-action credit cost appears on the AI product page
  • No per-action credit cost appears in the main credits help article
  • No credit cost is published for Breeze Assistant
  • No credit cost is published for contact and company enrichment
  • No guidance is published on typical monthly consumption by team size
  • No cap or spend limit is published for pay-as-you-go overage

None of this is hidden maliciously. Credit pricing is new, it moves with the release cycle, and a catalog page is a reasonable place to keep the canonical rate. It is still the reason most buyers cannot answer a question they need answered before they sign.

Questions people ask

HubSpot AI credit costs, answered directly

Every answer below is calculated from the rates above, so it moves when they move.

How much does one HubSpot credit cost?

0.010 dollars per credit on pay as you go, invoiced in increments of 10 credits. A capacity pack is $10 for 1,000 credits a month, which is the same rate. A pack does not make an action cheaper, it makes the spend predictable and stops features pausing.

How many HubSpot credits do I get each month?

500 on Starter, 3,000 on Professional and 5,000 on Enterprise across Smart CRM and the Hubs. Data Hub and Customer Platform include 500, 5,000 and 10,000 at those same tier names. Credits are not additive across subscriptions: you receive the single highest allotment, so Marketing Hub Professional alongside Sales Hub Enterprise gives you the Enterprise figure, not both.

What does a HubSpot Customer Agent resolution cost?

50 credits, or $0.50. It is charged on resolution rather than on conversation, so a chat the agent cannot answer costs nothing. The consequence is that cost rises with the agent's success rate, which is the opposite of how seat pricing behaves.

What does the HubSpot Prospecting Agent cost per lead?

100 credits per lead it recommends outreach for, which is $1.00. On an Enterprise hub allowance of 5,000 credits that is 50 leads a month before any overage, and before any other AI feature has run.

Do unused HubSpot credits roll over?

No. Unused credits expire at the end of each usage period and do not carry into the next month. Once the included allowance is spent and no capacity pack has been bought, usage-based AI features pause until the next reset date. Alerts fire at 75, 85 and 90 percent of the allowance.

What is the most expensive HubSpot AI action?

Per finished output it is Content Agent at 1,000 credits, or $10.00 a piece, which is twice the entire monthly allowance of a Starter subscription. In practice the larger bill usually comes from a Breeze action inside a workflow, because that is metered per execution and workflows already run at volume.

Does buyer intent use HubSpot credits?

Yes, and it recurs monthly rather than being charged once. Creating or monitoring one company costs 10 credits per month, and a custom signal on one company costs 50. Monitoring 500 target accounts is 5,000 credits every month, which is an entire Enterprise hub allowance before a single agent runs.

Where does HubSpot publish its AI credit prices?

In the Products and Services Catalog on its legal subdomain. The AI credits product page carries no per-action figure, and the main credits help article carries the per-credit rate and the expiry policy but no per-agent cost. That is why the rates are hard to find and why this page exists.

Methodology

How this was built, and where it can be wrong

Every credit rate and every included allowance was read from HubSpot’s Products and Services Catalog on 4 August 2026. The per-credit rate, the expiry policy, the pause behaviour and the alert thresholds come from HubSpot’s credits and billing article. We also checked the AI credits product page, which carries no per-action figure, and that absence is reported above as a finding rather than filled in from elsewhere.

No dollar figure on this page was typed. Each one is the credit count multiplied by the published rate, calculated when the page renders, so a rate change moves every total rather than leaving a stale number behind.

The scenarios are illustrations, not benchmarks. They model volumes we see in real portals, but your consumption depends on your own conversation mix, workflow enrolment and target list size. Treat them as arithmetic you can check, not as a forecast.

Three known limits. Content Agent is in beta and beta pricing can change without much notice. Credit costs are not published for Breeze Assistant or for enrichment, so neither appears here. And HubSpot publishes no cap on pay-as-you-go overage, so the only hard ceiling on spend is the pause behaviour you get by not buying capacity packs.

We are an Elite HubSpot Partner and we implement this software for a living, so we have an obvious interest in people buying it. That is exactly why this page reports the catalog rate rather than our opinion of value, and why the gaps are printed rather than smoothed over.

The credit bill is decided by your data model

Duplicate records, workflows enrolling more contacts than they should, and intent monitoring left switched on for a list nobody maintains. That is where the credits go, and none of it shows up until the invoice does.
