Piles to power, block by block.
INSIDEA designed this homepage for a utility-scale solar construction contractor. Pilewright Energy Builders is a fictional brand, so the names, people and numbers on the page are invented.

A utility-scale solar contractor that builds plants in 9.5 MWdc blocks and wants developers to see progress block by block, with a night-shift homepage: dark graphite, white type, solar orange and module blue, bold all-caps headings with tall condensed figures and a site map whose 20 blocks fill in as piles, trackers, modules and wiring are counted.
The brief
Developers and lenders get vague percent-complete reports and cannot see where a solar build actually stands. The first screen must show the site in blocks, with field counts for each trade and the completion date.
The direction
A night shift in graphite with white type, orange for progress and blue for modules. The hero block map fills 20 numbered blocks by trade, details the block being piled now and totals piles, trackers, modules and strings for the site.
The detail
Each block is 3,700 piles, 185 trackers and 15,540 modules, and 20 blocks make the 74,000, 3,700 and 310,800 site totals; Block 17's 2,640 of 3,700 piles leaves the 1,060 due next week. The record table lists the plant that finished 4 days late, not just the early ones.
