INSIDEA designed this homepage for a 24-hour emergency animal hospital. Owlhour Animal Emergency is a fictional brand, so the names, people and numbers on the page are invented.

A 24-hour emergency animal hospital in Gelderton, Iowa that shows current wait times and gets owners to call ahead, with a homepage built like a night ER: near-black canvas, white text, urgent red and calm triage blue, tall condensed capitals and a live status board with the wait for each triage level.
The brief
An owner with a sick pet at midnight needs to know the hospital is open, how long the wait is and whether to drive now. The first screen must show the live wait by how sick the pet is, a way to call ahead and the drive time.
The direction
A night ER, with near-black panels, white text, red for the call button and blue for triage. The hero status board shows pets in the building, the wait at each of four triage levels and drive times from three parts of town.
The detail
The 12 pets in the building are 8 in care and 4 waiting, matching 0, 1, 2 and 1 waiting across the four levels, and the sample estimate of $165, $175 and $210 starts at $550, with $285 of X-rays taking it to $835. The page notes larger pets and longer stays may cost more.
