INSIDEA designed this homepage for a home standby generator installer. Keepwatt Generators is a fictional brand, so the names, people and numbers on the page are invented.

A standby generator dealer and installer that lets homeowners size a unit before storm season: dark slate, an amber power glow and cold steel blue, heavy sans capitals and a home load calculator that fills a capacity bar and picks the unit and installed price.
The brief
Homeowners do not know what size generator they need or what it costs installed, so the sales call starts from zero. The first screen has to let them tick what must keep running and see the unit, the switch and the price.
The direction
Storm-ready: slate panels, amber glow for power and steel blue details, set in heavy sans capitals. The hero is a load calculator for an example home with twelve loads to tick, a capacity bar against the 80% limit, the recommended unit, the installed price and the next site visit.
The detail
The seven ticked loads of 5.0, 2.0, 1.4, 0.9, 1.3, 2.4 and 1.2 kW add to 14.2 kW, which is 79% of an 18 kW unit and under its 14.4 kW limit, and the sample schedule runs 27 days from the Apr 9 site visit to switch-on on May 6. The page is careful to say the unit runs what you select, not the whole house, and that every number is confirmed at the site visit.
