INSIDEA designed this homepage for an orthopedic implant machine shop. Kalvex Precision is a fictional brand, so the names, people and numbers on the page are invented.

- Train One
A precision machine shop in Warsaw, Indiana that makes orthopedic implants and surgical instruments and measures every part before it ships: charcoal, light gray, ice blue and steel gray, a squared technical display face and a CMM inspection report checked against tolerance.
The brief
Device engineers need a shop that holds tight tolerances and can prove it part by part, not with a sample. The first screen has to show the material, the tolerance and a real inspection report.
The direction
Titanium dark: charcoal panels, light gray type, ice blue marks and steel gray rules, with a squared technical display face. The hero is a released inspection report for an acetabular shell, with part and machine details and five measured features plotted in their tolerance band.
The detail
All 5 of 5 features pass, the largest deviation of 0.003 mm is 60% of the 0.005 mm band, and 48 of 48 parts in the lot were measured. The 100% inspection is scoped with care: every part is measured on the features the drawing marks critical, and the rest follow the approved plan.
