Stories told where they happen.
INSIDEA designed this homepage for a documentary film studio for nonprofits. Gaffwick Films is a fictional brand, so the names, people and numbers on the page are invented.

A documentary studio that makes short films with the people foundations and nonprofits serve, in the places they live: oatmeal paper, warm charcoal, olive green and rust, an old-style book serif and a film index with a map of where each film was shot.
The brief
Foundations want films that show their work truthfully, without a big crew taking over the lives of the people in them. Show the films, how long they run, who they were made for and where they were shot, in the first screen.
The direction
A field journal, with warm charcoal type on oatmeal paper, olive and rust accents and an old-style book serif. The hero index lists eight films with runtime, partner and place, pins the latest, a 22-minute film shot in 4 countries along the Mekong, and counts 3 in production.
The detail
The Long Water's shoot log adds 3, 2, 4 and 3 days in Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam for its 12, the top of the feature short's 8 to 12 shoot days, and the 5 released plus 3 in production make the 8 films. People on camera can step out of a film until picture lock and see the rough cut before the client does.
