A neighborhood bakery that takes orders the night before for a pickup shelf: butter yellow, cocoa brown and jam red, a chunky retro serif and a live bake board.
The brief
Regulars arrive to find the morning buns gone and a line at the counter. Let them reserve the night before and collect from a shelf.
The direction
Warm and homey, with a chunky retro serif. The hero is today's bake board: what is reserved and left of each item, 20-minute pickup windows and one order waiting in its cubby.
The detail
Every count on the board subtracts cleanly, such as 39 of 48 cardamom knots leaving 9, and an $11 loaf with two $4.50 knots makes the $20.00 order. With wheat, milk, eggs, tree nuts and sesame in one kitchen, nothing is promised free of them.
